On February 12th following rapid ramp-up of fellow and company recruitment, InSITE’s Boston Chapter kicked off for the spring of 2013. Through the recruitment period we got to speak with many exceptional people and organizations leaving us even more excited about the Boston entrepreneurial ecosystem and the role InSITE can play in it. InSITE chooses 6 companies for its Fall 2012 Mentoring Program

Last week, InSITE kicked off our Fall 2012 Company Mentoring Program. We spent the summer scouring the city for interesting companies working on cool stuff. We then spent over a month looking through the applications from the founders of these awesome companies. A lot of people don’t appreciate how hard selection processes can be. We left every conversation with entrepreneurs fired up about their businesses. Narrowing down that list was extremely difficult and painful. InSITE fellow Marshall Cox wins $200,000 MIT Clean Energy Prize

Marshall Cox, an InSITE Fellow, Startup Leadership Fellow, and PhD candidate of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University, won the $200,000 Grand Prize at the MIT Clean Energy Prize competition, and with it the chance to compete in the 1st annual National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition held at the White House in mid June. Cox’s company, Radiator Labs,  is a venture he started in his apartment two winters ago to solve the overheating and efficiency problems associated with steam heat.
