InSITE CLEAN TECHNOLOGY FOCUS GROUP

About us

Founded in 1999, InSITE is a Fellowship program comprised of 70 top graduate students from top New York Universities (which includes both Columbia and NYU law and business school students, as well as PhD candidates and post docs from other top NY graduate programs such as Sloan-Kettering) who are interested in technology, entrepreneurship or venture financing.

Fellows are selected through a competitive selection process and represent a variety of backgrounds, such as venture capital, entrepreneurship, technology, consulting, banking, media, healthcare, clean technology, law, and information technology.

InSITE’s mission is to accelerate technology start-ups through early-stage development, transitioning them from seed stage into venture-funded companies. InSITE companies have raised more than $270 million in venture funding, and exits in excess of $130 million.

InSITE counts as its partners, the organization also is affiliated with HackNY, New York Angels, New York Academy of Sciences, Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, Life Sciences Angel Network, TechStars, NYC ACRE, NYC EDC, NYTech MeetUp, NYCIF and the University programs which our students attend.

InSITE CLEAN TECHNOLOGY FOCUS GROUP

As the InSITE Fellowship grows and increasingly includes students with backgrounds in clean technology, the group is looking to expand its activity in New York’s clean technology industry.  The organization’s knowledge base has expanded in recent years across a wide range of technologies including solar power, wind power, electric vehicles, smart grid, advanced batteries, recycling, energy efficiency solutions, and sustainability.

This group of highly skilled individuals draws on significant work history in engineering, government, banking and consulting, as well experience with several clean technology startups.

The goals of the InSITE clean technology focus group are:

  • Support the organizations in NYC that promote clean technology business development
  • Gain exposure to angels and venture capital firms in the clean technology space
  • Source early stage NYC clean technology companies for the core InSITE program
