Prior to Stern, Geetika led an business incubator team at IBM, identifying potential new product opportunities, leading a team to build the proof of concept, and working across product teams, customers, and IBM sales teams to turn these concepts into products. Geetika came to Stern to combine her entrepreneurial bent to the development sector and spent this past summer as a Summer Portfolio Associate for the Acumen Fund India office. She has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Prior to business school, Haley was an Account Supervisor at Fleishman-Hillard, an international public relations agency. While at Fleishman-Hillard Haley managed strategic communications for a number of consumer technology companies, including Yahoo! and Motorola. Previously she also spent several years helping to launch technology start-ups in Silicon Valley. Haley holds a B.A. from Tulane University in New Orleans, La.

Elizabeth Broomfield

At Columbia Law, Elizabeth is President of the Columbia Business and Law Association and is working part-time at the Securities & Exchange Commission. Elizabeth graduated from Yale University, where she double majored in Electrical Engineering and EP&E (Ethics, Politics, and Economics). While at Yale, she was also a part of the Yale International Security Studies Program in Grand Strategies and on the executive board of the Yale Political Union. As a Bromley Fellow at the Department of State in Washington DC, Elizabeth focused on international nanotechnology and space policy. She later interned at the United States Mission to the United Nations where she worked on a variety of European issues in the Security Council. Between undergrad and law school she was a Google Policy Fellow in Washington DC, where her primary responsibilities included analyzing reports on telecom mergers and contributing to a long-term project on dynamic spectrum auctions. This past summer she was a summer associate at Miller & Wrubel, a commercial litigation firm in Manhattan.

Previously, Kesha founded a consulting firm that combined artistic freedom with corporate structure and financial feasibility to develop sound business strategies. The firm consulted several fashion and beauty related companies, and raised seed capital for three start-up ventures that remain in business. Prior to entrepreneurship, she worked as a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst for three years at Merrill Lynch. Kesha mentors underprivileged youth and volunteers with Sustainable South Bronx, a non-profit organization that develops and executes environmental justice solutions through innovative, economically sustainable projects informed by community needs.

Lee Drucker

Lee is the co-founder of SharePower, an on-line shareholder forum focused on improving the corporate governance of public companies by engaging retail investors. Prior to graduate school Lee founded a clothing company that catered to boutiques in NYC. He has also worked at Burford Advisors, a company focused on servicing the legal industry. At Burford, he worked extensively in both the legal process outsourcing and the litigation funding industries. He spent last summer at the law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, in New York. Lee graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and History.

Max spent the last two summers as a Summer Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, in New York, where he focused on restructuring and private equity work. Max holds a B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University. While in college, he interned at Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin and at Centerbridge Partners.

Vinay Ganti

Vinay spent his fall semester studying abroad at the National University of Singapore. During his time at NYU, Vinay has worked for Guthrie & Associates, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and the Environmental Defense Fund. Before coming to NYU, Vinay worked in Providence, RI, for Foresight Science & Technology, where he helped early stage companies positions their technologies in the marketplace. At Foresight, Vinay focused on providing clients a holistic assessment of multiple areas of commercialization — including competition, market dynamics and size, intellectual property, distribution and placement, promotion, and revenue generation. He also started a non-profit focused on providing practical financial education to teenagers in inner city communities that aimed to promote better personal fiscal responsibility. Vinay has also been an intern for the Clinton Global Initiative’s Energy and Climate Working Group, is an active member of the JD/MBA Association at NYU, and one of the founding editors of ThinkChange India — a blog focused on social entrepreneurship and innovation in India. He has a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University.

In between her first and second years of school, Jennifer worked as a Summer Associate for Agora Partnerships Nicaragua, a social investment fund and nonprofit that supports small and medium enterprises in Central America. Prior to business school, Jennifer was the deputy director of City Futures, the nonprofit parent of City Limits magazine and website and the think tank Center for an Urban Future, where she oversaw the development, administration, publishing and marketing operations. Prior to her work at City Futures, she was the communications director for Art in General, a nonprofit cultural organization in Lower Manhattan, where she headed all publicity and marketing efforts and edited and produced numerous exhibition catalogs. In addition to her nonprofit career, Jennifer has run her own boutique jewelry design business for the past three years. Before coming to New York, Jennifer was a researcher and writer for Let’s Go travel guides in India, Mexico and Italy. She graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in History and Women’s Studies.

Justin is currently an MBA student at Columbia Business School. During his studies, he has been working with the cleantech team at Investor Growth Capital, a growth-stage venture capital firm. Prior to business school, he was an Associate with Oliver Wyman’s General Management Consulting Group where he advised clients in the energy, health care and private equity industries. Justin’s work with clients included developing business strategies, working to improve operations and assisting in due diligence efforts. Justin graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Management.

Jane spent her last summer at Mayer Brown LLP focusing on corporate legal work. Prior to law school, she worked at the Corporate Executive Board (CEB), a best business practices research firm. At CEB, Jane diagnosed emerging legal issues and advised senior officers of corporate legal departments. Previously, she worked as a legal assistant with the international trade group of a Washington DC firm. Jane graduated from Yale University with a BA in Political Science.

Anthony spent his most recent summer as a football administration intern for the Philadelphia Eagles and the two prior summers performing corporate legal work at Proskauer Rose and Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton in New York. Prior to law school, Anthony was an investment banking analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch. While at Merrill, he worked on teams that advised companies across several industries on transformational strategic alternatives. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics from Georgetown University.

Oren Livne

At NYU, Oren is a Leadership Program in Law and Business Scholar and an Intellectual Property Law Scholar. He worked for several years at the Office of Technology Transfer at the University of California, Office of the President before co-founding a technology transfer office at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005. He is currently managing a portfolio of intellectual property for UCSB’s Solid State Lighting and Energy Center and has significant international experience negotiating with institutions and companies (from startups to multinationals) in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Germany, and France as well as the United States. Oren has published in several journals on topics including cost conscious patent filings and monetizing intellectual property. He graduated first in his class from Rutgers University where he majored in biochemical engineering and pursued a year of graduate study in chemical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a registered patent agent and a Certified Licensing Professional.

Ricky worked previously at Google, where he ran the company’s online series of talks and lectures, Authors@Google, and managed projects related to advertiser retention on the AdWords product. He also co-founded a program to provide free online advertising and education in online marketing to businesses in the developing world. Before coming to Google, Ricky worked for McSweeney’s, an independent publisher of books, literary journals, and magazines. Ricky’s writing has appeared in various publications, and he is currently working on a novel. He received a BA in American Literature from UC Berkeley.

Ryan Orton

Ryan’s work experience includes an internship at DFJ Gotham Ventures, a manager at Hitachi Consulting, an entrepreneur, and an auditor at Ernst & Young. His expertise in business and technology has been focused on the financial services, telecommunications and health care industries. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder, is a certified information systems auditor and a certified public accountant.

Roy recently worked in venture capital at Greycroft Partners in New York. Before business school, he was at NBC Universal. There he led NBC’s Product Management team for the Local Digital group. He was also part of the Hulu.com launch team, where he focused on defining the advertising experience for the new joint venture. Before NBC, Roy worked in Product Management for some of IAC/Interactive’s online portal properties. He began his professional career as part of the team at Microsoft defining the feature set for Excel 2007. Roy has a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University with a minor in Management Science and Engineering.

Duncan Welstead

Prior to Columbia, Duncan worked with Halyard Capital, a middle market private equity fund focused on growth equity and buyout investments. Duncan helped to complete investments in the media, telecom and business services sectors. This past summer, Duncan worked with the Large Cap Growth fund at UBS Asset Management.
